Starry Night Pro Plus includes extra integration features for MaxIm DL, including the ability to automatically paste images into Starry Night in the correct position, scale, and rotation angle (after PinPoint solve). Starry Night Pro Plus can also be used to trigger exposures.
To link telescope control together between MaxIm DL and Starry Night Pro Plus 5.0, use the ASCOM POTH telescope hub. Connect both MaxIm DL and Starry Night to POTH, and connect POTH to your telescope. If you are using MaxPoint, then use MaxPoint as the hub instead of POTH.
Starry Night Pro Plus includes the AllSky mosaic from Desktop Universe. This is the worlds first seamless, full color, all-sky CCD image mosaic. To create this mosaic, over 20,000 images were captured, processed, and assembled using MaxIm DL and an Apogee AP9E CCD camera. This mosaic is very useful for helping to properly frame CCD images, since it shows the exact shape and size of the target objects.
