Manual Conventions

In the text, Menus, commands, keys, and controls will be highlighted in bold.

"Click the mouse" always means left-click unless otherwise stated.

SHIFT-click means press and hold the Shift key while clicking the mouse. CTRL-click means press and hold the CTRL key while clicking the mouse.

"Drag the mouse" means click the mouse and move it while holding the button depressed.  Release the mouse button when the desired effect has been achieved (brightness adjustment, rectangle drawing, etc.).

When describing keyboard operations, CTRL-key always means press and hold the CTRL key while pressing the designated key.
