Afocal Mounting

For this method the camera is focused for infinity, and placed behind the eyepiece.  The telescope is focused normally, so that the light leaves the eyepiece as parallel rays.  In this setup, the camera mimics the human eye, when looking through the telescope. The camera is most commonly attached with some sort of bracket, or adapter that screws onto the front of the camera lens.  This method is not typically recommended as it can cause vibrations or flexure.
